The affects of divorce upon spouses and children

On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Family Law on Friday, January 3, 2014.

Recent research concerning as to why couple’s divorce may not provide additional insight. However, this research does reiterate that divorce can be extremely stressful for both husbands and wives. There also are indications of a large number of cultural factors that go into why a divorce has taken place.

More women are divorcing or separating from their spouses than in the past. Research has also indicated that divorce can have a variety of adverse health effects upon men. Unfortunately, the fear of remaining alone has often led to a number of individuals remaining in marriages that were far less than ideal.

Though this should not be of any great surprise, young children are also adversely affected by divorce. Young children of divorced parents often appear to be more insecure on average than other children.

It’s because of so many difficulties that can come about due to divorce that individuals may wish to consult with attorneys experienced in the family law area. These attorneys can make every effort to negotiate with both parties to make certain that an amicable settlement is worked out. Finding common ground among couples may ultimately result in a far less contentious and financially costly process.

When it comes to children the finding of common ground can become even more essential. In any family law matter that involves children tried in our Missouri courts, the best interests of the child are paramount.

Fortunately, many individuals will learn various lessons from the divorce process that will help them adapt and maybe even make a better life for themselves in the future.
