Soldier records domestic abuse suffered from his ex

44546023_S.jpgIn many ways, members of the military are the strongest, toughest people in the entire country. The training and work to which they subject their bodies and minds would break many individuals, and yet some of the most unimaginable tragedies are daily occurrences for many in the military. Because of this, some may think that domestic violence is the least of worries for a soldier, but an ongoing legal battle in Florida proves that this is not the case.

The risks of owning property for unmarried couples

When it comes to marriage, the legal system simply assumes that all property is purchased with the consent of both parties for the use of both parties, and thus the property is considered marital property. If the marriage should end, and the couple splits up, marital property will be divided equally, keeping in mind the notion that both parties exerted joint control over a given property. Unfortunately for unmarried couples, things are not always quite so simple.

Helping grandparents with visitation rights

14310189_S.jpgWhen a couple decides to divorce, there are many legal issues that may arise, and many parties who may be less than satisfied with the results of the divorce. Oftentimes custodial parents feel that they are not paid enough in child support, or noncustodial parents feel that they do not get to see their children enough. While each of these may be valid concerns, there is a significant focus on the outcome of a divorce agreement as it pertains to children and parents, but very little attention is paid to grandparents.

Child abuse is a serious crime in Missouri

15783113_S.jpgWhen most people think of domestic violence, they imagine spouses in a heated argument, and usually the assumption is that the man eventually loses control and strikes the woman. This is a fairly common and frighteningly accurate idea of domestic violence, but there is much more to domestic violence than a man beating a woman, or even a woman beating a man. In some extremely tragic instances, there are children involved in the incident as well.
