Guiding children through divorce

29272423_S.jpgAs Missouri parents whose marriages are ending know, one of the more complicated aspects of a divorce is helping their children through the process. Even before the parents start custody and support negotiations, there are things they can do to support their children as they enter this new stage in their family life.

Political arguments are affecting couples

12556985_S.jpgSome Missouri couples might be arguing more than ever, but it could be over a fairly new conflict according to a study by the polling firm Wakefield Research. The firm conducted a survey of 1,000 people in April and found that 24 percent of couples said they were having more fights than ever before about politics since the election of President Trump.

Postnuptial agreements can benefit newlyweds

40518599_S.jpgGetting married can be a wonderful, dizzying experience. Often couples on the precipice of marriage are so busy it is all they can do to prepare for the wedding, so they may not feel like they have time to sit down and create a prenuptial agreement. And some couples simply don't want to jeopardize their relationship by discussing issues that could prove contentious.

Expressions of anger can impact custody decisions

49635486_S.jpgBen Franklin is cited as having said, "Anger is never without a reason, but seldom with a good one." And while these are very sound words, in theory, putting them into practice can be very challenging. The fact is, we all have experiences that can drive us to distraction and even lead us to falling prey to some very negative emotions.

Study demonstrates the value of grandparents

42309401_S.jpgAs a grandparent, you likely believe that you can play an important role in your grandchild's life. And as it happens, there is research that proves you are correct in this assumption. In fact, one study produced results that demonstrated the positive effects that grandparents can have when they have greater involvement with their grandchildren.
