Hiding Assets: A Risk in Divorce and in Marriage

It doesn’t seem like a big deal to a lot of people: just tucking away a little money on the side, maybe a small account or credit card unknown to the other spouse.

However, for many people, this type of “financial infidelity” is a very big deal, something very similar to sexual infidelity or adultery. Not only can hidden assets cause significant problems in divorce, ironically they can actually cause problems in marriage, often leading to divorce.
